What is Database Technology?

The essential feature of database technology is that it provides an INTERNAL Representation (model) of the EXTERNAL world of interest. Examples are the representation of a particular date/time/flight/aircraft in airline reservation or of item code/item description/quantity on hand/reorder level/reorder quantity in a stock control system.

The TECHNOLOGY involved is concerned primarily with maintaining the internal representation consistent with external reality; this involves the results of extensive R&D over the past 30 years in areas such as user requirements analysis, data modelling, process modelling, data integrity, concurrency, transactions, file organisation, indexing, rollback and recovery, persistent programming, object-orientation, logic programming, deductive database systems, active database systems... and in all these (and other) areas there remains much to be done.

Nervous Day

HBS(Harvard Business Study) discussion in the class..so funny..We all got a litte bit nervous. there are 10 questions to be discussed in group about 30 minutes. Although we feel very nervous but after begin the discussion, we think that are so easy, one person just need to talk around 10 seconds.Then our Dc Zaidi will summarize our point.
Symbian, Google & Apple in the Mobile Space (A)
In this article include many like Symbian's History,The Mobile Industry Value Chain, 3G 4G and beyond, Symbian's Operating System, Symbian Competitors, and Managing Uncertainly..At the end of the discussion, my conclusion is Apple and Google are more better than Symbian. But one of my friend say that Android is better than Symbian.Apple not very good.We around 5p.m end our interesting discussion.

Discussion

Today, our Dr Zaidi said the HBS just need 5 groups.After the proggramming class, our Bob asked us to find more 2 people, thus got 7 poeple in a group. Finally Jun Qi and Suk Wen joined our group. After that, we are discussed about our FYE project. We decided our class as a team to gave afford to gain the money for our 4th year journey...seem like so interesting and feel very excited..haha
.At night, we also got come out to discuss the HBS information..this few days i also feel very tired and a little bit stress.NOT enough sleep leh..So sad..Almost everyday sleep around 1a.m. But i think after this week, we may not many things to do.

A day in a DBA's life with MoreVRP (Oracle / SQLServer / DB2)

All the things around us are data.We come across data by day to day everyday.The name of our friends, the price of a thing, your password, the age of our friends and etc are example of data that we need to remember.We difficult to remember all the data in our daily life.

Database is a collection of a group of facts in structured way. The collection of information is related to recorded.
